Mom's Feelin' Fiiiiiiiine.

"Hey! Bring me the Oreo's and my Vicodin!"

Searcy Chicks

Chicks

Oh my! Have you heard? The Searcys just got chicks- 8 of them- and are planning to get more! So how did they convince their dad? Isn’t this a little sudden? Who will take care of them? Will they want eggs or meat?
Well, first of all, Mike Searcy was already planning to get them in his mind. Why? Well if you haven’t heard, food prices are going up fast, so if the Searcys get chickens, they will get free eggs!
Lots of people think that chickens would be easy care for. No. When they’re in their eggs they have to be kept at the right temperature. When they hatch you have to put them under a heat lamp for about six weeks. Then you have to build a coop to keep the hens in and predators out.
Right now it looks like Katie will take care of the chickens, since Angela has to care for the horse and Keith cares for the cows.
They are all very excited to have the chicks and can’t keep their hand off them. And they give their advice to you: GET CHICKENS!!

Happy Mother's Day!

On this episode of

You all know that Mom is having hip surgery this week. In preparation, she bought another walker so that she has one in both houses.

Steve and I wanted to do something special for Mother's Day, so we pimped out her walker.

Notice the bicycle horn, the basket, and the rockin' streamers.

Mom loved it. Look how cute she looks!

We love you, Mommy!

Hello, is anyone there?

Ok, it's been almost a month and no one has posted anything on this blog! I happen to know that there are several of us that check it often, but still - no posts. So I am going to post something just so there is a change of scenery. Here is a little update on my life:

Job: It's wonderful. It is not boring, but it certainly isn't anything interesting to tell about. I work great hours, no stress, and get paid as much as I made working at the group home. I get along really well with my main co-worker, who is a super conservative, card-carrying NRA member who chooses Coach handbags that have an extra pocket to carry her Glock.

House hunting: We put in two offers on places we liked this week and they both fell through. Still waiting to hear about the offer on the short sale. When we do get hints of how that's going they are giving confusing mixed signals. Hopefully we will here something definitive this week. We had no idea that buying your first house would be such a roller coaster. We feel excited, depressed, frustrated, excited, anxious and calm. These emotions come repeatedly and in quick succession. We need to get a contract ratified before we both go crazy.

Baby: We are on our 5th cycle of IUI's. We are about to enter the dreaded "two week wait" in which I slowly go mad thinking every twinge in my body is a sign of early pregnancy, just to find out that the side effects of the meds they make me take exactly duplicate signs of pregnancy. Is that a cruel joke, or what?

Husband: He is great and tells me I am beautiful and I am still totally in love.

How about a quick up date on everyone else's life? I want to know about LJ and his family, Tyler and Kianna and their impressive athletic achievements and what their parents are up to, how the parent's house is, what Lea's kids are up too, what Steve's plans are for the summer, etc. I know about Betsy's life because she actually posts on her own blog. (Thank you.)

Love you all,
Sara
